Pre-Paid Personal and Small Business Legal Plans*
Life Events Legal Plan:
The PPL "Life Events Legal Plan" (LELP) is the core product of the PPL system of legal services. It comprises five basic entitlements:
-
"Preventive Legal Services" which enable the member to consult with the provider law firm on any legal subjects, contract reviews, as well as wills and powers of attorney.
-
"Motor Vehicle Legal Services" that provide legal support in the event of various traffic-related events.
-
"Trial Defense Services" that entitles the member to a defined number of trial preparation and trial legal services. There are two forms of the LELP. One provides 50 hours of trial support the first year and the "extended plan" provides 75 hours of trial support the first year.
-
"IRS Audit Legal Services" provide legal support in the event an IRS audit turns into a legal dispute and litigation.
-
"Preferred Member Rate" provides all other legal services not covered above at highly discounted rates.
The PPL LELP is available to all business owners and their employees. If sold to the employees through a company payroll deduction plan, the monthly membership payments are discounted.
Home-Based Business Rider:
The PPL "Home-Based Business Rider" (HBBR) is a supplement to the PPL "Extended Life Events Legal Plan" that extends legal services and support to a small businesses operated out of the member's home.
Legal Plan for the Self-Employed:
The PPL "Legal Plan for the Self-Employed" (LPSE) is similar to the HBBR plan in that it affords legal support for very small businesses, but extends these services to businesses outside the home.
Small Business Legal Plans:
The PPL "Small Business Plan" (SBP) is designed to provide legal support to small businesses with up to 99 employees.
* Not all Pre-Paid Legal Plans are available in all states, or are modified in scope, depending on specific state laws and restrictions. Check with Dan Nickell at Croftware for specifics for your location.
